[theqoo] THE WEDDING CULTURE THAT ONLY KOREANS HAVE

Julie: How much do people spend on weddings?

Gyuri: In Korea, usually 30~40 million won (t/n: 22K~30K USD)
 "That expensive?"

Tory(?): How does the wedding fee get used?

Guyri: There's fee for the wedding hall..

Guyri: And there's fees for SDM

"What's SDM?"

Guyri: You girls don't know what SDM is?

"Studio, dress, makeup"

Dasha: I've actually never heard of it! How can we know!

Gyuri: Because SDM's fees are so high,

Article: Fair Trade Commission Chairman: "Survey of 'SDM' prices at 2,000 wedding halls by region"
Guyri: The government is actually trying to regulate the price of SDM

Gyuri: They call it the SDM door lock

Tory: In Poland, we spend a lot in alcohol

Tory: Because our weddings last for 2 days

Tory: When we're partying, we also hire an MC

Tory: If there's still one man standing, we will keep partying ã…Žã…Ž

Dasha: This sounds so fun
Tory: It's really really fun

Gyuri: Russia's bridal parties have dancers? st**pers?

Dasha: That's right, we have bridal showers, we would call st**pers

Dasha: Both men and women

original post: here

3. St**pers ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ It's like watching a Friends episode ã…‹ã…‹

4. But foreigners don't necessarily spend less though

5. I still prefer SDM than st**pers and all night parties

6. I would rather spend on SDM than st**pers

7. Our culture suck but st**pers suck too

8. SDM is 100x better than calling st**pers

9. Oh I just watched the video and it's not for me. I prefer Korean weddings...

10. Doesn't American men have to calculate their salary x N amount for the proposal ring too
