A sighting of BTS member V and singer-actress IU has emerged online.
On the 15th, reports and photos quickly spread online claiming the two were seen dining together at a restaurant in Seoul. In the released photo, a person believed to be V is seated at a table with a woman. Although the woman sitting across from V had her face hidden, she was wearing a bucket hat and a checkered shirt.
Fans speculate that the woman in the photo is IU, as the hat and shirt are known to be items IU frequently wears. Notably, the 16th was IU’s birthday, leading to further speculation that the two were sharing a meal to celebrate the occasion.
V and IU became connected when V appeared in the music video for IU’s song “Love Wins All” in January last year, just before his military enlistment. Following this, some fans are enthusiastically referring to this recent meeting as new “clues” about the on-screen couple "Taejoon" and "Jihye." Although these names weren't officially used in the music video, a fan affectionately coined them, saying, “Just looking at them makes me emotional.” V later fueled the excitement by posting, “Taejoon, Jihye, be happy,” on his social media, sparking fans' imaginations even more.
V, who had been personally contacted by IU, explained his appearance in the video, saying, “After hearing the song, I loved it so much that I knew I’d regret it if I didn’t take the role.” IU expressed her gratitude, saying, “V only had a week left before enlistment, but he made time in his impossible schedule. I feel like I used up all my good luck with people for this album.”
This marked the beginning of a deeper connection between the two. In September last year, V even visited the encore stage of IU’s concert while serving in the military.
V began his mandatory military service in December 2023, alongside fellow BTS member RM. He is currently serving as a sergeant in the Special Duty Team (SDT) of the military police. His discharge is scheduled for June 10, and BTS is expected to resume full-group activities in the second half of 2025, after all members have completed their service.
