NewJeans, currently in a dispute with their agency Ador over their exclusive contract, has filed a petition against a court's provisional injunction decision that prohibits them from engaging in independent activities.
According to legal sources on the 24th, all five members of New Jeans submitted a petition on the 21st to the Seoul Central District Court, which had ruled in favor of Ador's request for a provisional injunction to maintain their agency's status and prohibit NewJeans from signing advertising contracts. If the petition is accepted, the same court panel will reconsider the case.
The Seoul Central District Court Civil Division 50 had previously accepted Ador's application for a provisional injunction to maintain its agency status and prohibit NewJeans from signing advertising contracts, issuing a ruling in favor of the agency. The court reasoned, "Based on the claims and evidence submitted so far, it is difficult to sufficiently prove that Adore violated important obligations under the exclusive contract," siding with Ador. As a result of the court's decision, Ador's status as NewJeans' exclusive agency was confirmed, and the group's independent entertainment activities were restricted.
