Claims have been made that the late actress Kim Saeron worked without pay at her former agency, Gold Medalist, doing tasks such as visual directing. However, a former employee of Gold Medalist denied this, calling it a 'blatant lie.'
A former Gold Medalist employee, referred to as A, posted on social media on the 22nd, stating, "The visual directing for the trainees, newcomers, and all actors at Gold Medalist was my job."
A explained, "I worked as a creative director from the early days of Gold Medalist, back when the company didn't even have a logo, handling company branding, visual directing, etc. The current profile photo of Kim Saeron on Naver was also directed by me."
He emphasized, "I am posting this because all the work I did over the five years at Gold Medalist is being denied. The statement that she did visual directing and worked without pay as a founding member of the company is a blatant lie."
A also shared details of his professional background. According to him, he planned the mapping videos for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics and later joined Gold Medalist in November 2019, working there until December of the previous year.
A has also won four main awards at the world-renowned design awards, including the Red Dot Design Award and iF Design Award.
The late actress's family recently expressed through the Garosero that Kim Saeron signed an exclusive contract with Gold Medalist upon the recommendation of actor Kim Soohyun but did not receive adequate protection or treatment. They also argued that Kim Saeron, as a founding member of Gold Medalist, worked without pay doing tasks such as talent scouting and visual directing.
