[instiz] THE COURT RULES THAT THE "NEWJEANS MEMBERS MUST REFRAIN FROM INDEPENDENT ACTIVITIES"... INJUNCTION GRANTED

The court has ruled that NewJeans (now using the new name NJZ), who are in a legal dispute with their agency ADOR over their exclusive contracts, must not engage in independent activities.

On the 21st, the Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Agreement Division 50 granted ADOR’s injunction request against the five NewJeans members, ruling in favor of “preserving the agency’s status and prohibiting the signing of independent advertising contracts.”

Previously, in November of last year, the five NewJeans members claimed that their exclusive contracts with ADOR had been terminated due to violations by the agency and began pursuing independent activities.

In response, ADOR filed an injunction request in January to prevent the members from independently signing advertising contracts.

Later, ADOR expanded the scope of the injunction request to include a ban on all entertainment activities, including songwriting, composing, singing, and other music-related activities.

2. I like NewJeans too, but I do think the contract puts them at a disadvantage... The power of a contract is immense

3. I also dislike HYBE and fully understand NewJeans' frustration and unfair situation, but honestly, is it right to unilaterally terminate a contract and continue activities without a legal ruling? If this is allowed, what's the point of contracts? Wouldn’t that mean any celebrity could just leave whenever they felt like it? If there had been a clear reason, like unpaid wages, rather than emotional reasons such as trust issues or discrimination, it would have been more justifiableㅜ

4. If that's what the law says, then that's right. Every legal expert says NewJeans' claims are nonsense, and rightly so... Not discounting what HYBE didㅇㅇ
