The group TWS has topped the 2024 Melon yearly chart with their debut song.

According to the '2024 Melon Yearly Chart' announced by Melon on the 9th, the title track of TWS ('s debut album Sparkling Blue, "Plot Twist," secured the #1 spot.

This is the first time in 14 years since Miss A's "Bad Girl Good Girl" in 2010 that a debut song has topped the Melon Annual Chart. Additionally, this marks the first time in about six years that a boy group has taken the top spot on this chart, following iKON's "Love Scenario" in 2018. Their overwhelming momentum, shaking up the K-pop scene, signals the revival of the boy group craze.

TWS stirred a public reaction with their debut song "Plot Twist," which introduced the unique genre "Boyhood Pop," evoking beautiful sentiments from everyday life. The song, which also topped the Circle Chart 2024 first-half digital and streaming categories, continues to enjoy long-lasting success, staying within the ranks of various charts even as it approaches its one-year anniversary.

"Plot Twist" gained massive popularity on social media platforms, particularly due to its strong addictive quality. The song ranked 6th in the "Top Song" category for the Korean region in TikTok's year-end roundup and was also ranked 4th in YouTube's "Top Shorts Songs" and 6th in "Top Songs" in South Korea. TWS is the only K-pop boy group to rank in the upper tiers of both TikTok’s "Top Songs" and YouTube's "Top Songs."

Furthermore, "Plot Twist" was selected as one of the "Best K-pop Songs of 2024" by both the U.S. Billboard and the U.K. NME. Thanks to their achievements, TWS won a total of 13 trophies at major music award ceremonies, earning the title of the most awarded debut artist of 2024.

TWS also made a mark in the music industry by achieving three consecutive "Half Million Seller" titles with albums and singles released last year in Korea, further establishing their presence in the music sales sector. After a successful 2024, they will continue their active schedule by holding their first solo fan meetings, "2025 TWS 1ST FANMEETING <42:CLUB>," in Seoul and Tokyo in February and March, continuing their "hard work" into the new year.
