Min Heejin, the former CEO of Ador, has filed a lawsuit against Park Ji-won, the former CEO of HYBE, and Park Tae-hee, the Chief Branding Officer of HYBE, on charges of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (including information network infringement). Additionally, Dispatch journalists Kim Ji-ho and Park Hye-jin have been sued for defamation under the same law.
The following is the full official statement from Min Heejin's side:
Hello.
This is Makol Consulting Group, responsible for media communication along with the law firm Sejong, representing Min Heejin.
Min Heejin has filed a lawsuit with the Yongsan Police Station against Park Ji-won and Park Tae-hee, former CEO and Chief Branding Officer of HYBE, for violations related to the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (including information network infringement). Dispatch journalists Kim Ji-ho and Park Hye-jin were also sued for defamation under the same law.
Since April, the defendants Park Ji-won and Park Tae-hee have been actively using private conversations acquired illegally, adding false information to shape negative public opinion about Min Heejin.
Journalists Kim Ji-ho and Park Hye-jin at Dispatch were fully aware of this intention but continued to publish false information to defame Min Heejin, thus damaging her reputation.
Today, Kim Ji-ho and Park Hyejin wrote an article that was completely different from the truth, adding their own assumptions to one-sided claims without verifying any facts, resulting in an article with false content.
Through this lawsuit, we hope that an in-depth investigation will reveal the serious falsehoods and deceit of the defendants, who will then be held legally accountable.
