1. It's good to have a representative who listensㅠㅠ There should be someone here to listen to them at leastㅜ

2. People may call this a "show" but it's still a comfort to bereaved families who have been watching the situation on TV all day

3. ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

4. I'm cryingㅠㅠ

5. This is just so so so heart breaking. I'm sorry to all the bereaved familyㅜㅜ

6. This is so sad... seriously, I know that this is hard but I really hope they can overcome it wellㅠㅠ

7. It's really powerful when someone influential, whether it's a member of Congress or somebody else, comes in and listens to what the bereaved family has to say, not just to make a press statement or to make a televised visitㅠㅠ

8. Why are the bereaved families sitting on the bare ground?ㅠㅠ

9. I wish that Lee Jaemyung isn't simply a representative but the presidentㅜㅜ There's really nobody to trust or the lean on anymoreㅜㅜ

10. This breaks my heart ㅠㅠㅠ I hope that he listens to the bereaved families and gives them comfort

[theqoo] "WHY ONLY NOW"... BEREAVED FAMILY ANCRY AT JEJU AIR EXECUTIVES FOR COMING TO SCENE LATE

Eleven hours after the Jeju Air plane crash at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province, Jeju Air executives visited the site, prompting outrage from the victims’ families.

On the evening of the 29th, around 8 PM, Jeju Air CEO Kim Yibae, Aekyung Group Vice Chairman Chae Hyung-seok, and AK Holdings CEO Ko Jun appeared at Muan Airport to express condolences and promise full support moving forward.

However, the bereaved families reacted strongly, criticizing the executives for their excessively delayed arrival. Park Han-shin, acting as the temporary representative of the victims’ families, rebuked the executives, saying, “We have been looking for Jeju Air representatives for hours, but no one showed up until now. In a country where you can travel anywhere within a few hours, arriving 11 hours late—what is this supposed to mean?”

He continued, “This was a situation where they should have come earlier and offered a sincere apology. I can’t understand their actions. Would they have responded so slowly if their own family members had been among the victims?”

Jeju Air CEO Kim Yibae stated, “We were organizing an initial response team, assisting the government investigation, and holding a briefing in Seoul, which caused the delay in our arrival. We have dispatched 260 support staff to Muan to assist the bereaved families, and we will provide full support for all procedures, including the funerals.” Jeju Air’s Planning Director, Lee Jeong-seok, added, “We arrived earlier to establish an on-site response headquarters and manage the accident scene. We will take responsibility for addressing the families’ demands.”

The bereaved families also directed criticism toward Park Sang-woo, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, and Kim Yeong-rok, the Governor of South Jeolla Province, who visited the scene. Minister Park, speaking to the families on the second floor of Muan Airport around 7:30 PM, acknowledged the ministry’s responsibility, stating, “The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport holds significant responsibility for this accident. We will not avoid accountability and will conduct a swift investigation into the cause of the accident.”

Despite these assurances, the families expressed frustration, claiming they had only received repetitive responses that identification was ongoing. One family member, identified as Mr. A, said, “We have been asking all day for a dedicated situation room to address our concerns, but it has not been established. Even during briefings, we keep hearing the same response about ongoing identification efforts, which is incredibly frustrating.”

The Jeju Air 7C2216 flight, which departed from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand, crashed at Muan Airport at 9:03 AM on the same day. The landing gear failed to deploy, forcing an attempted belly landing. However, the aircraft could not reduce its speed and collided with airport structures. Among the 181 people onboard (including six crew members), 179 were killed. Two crew members were rescued and transported to a hospital in Seoul. As of 8:38 PM, the identities of 65 victims had been confirmed.
