[instiz] THE REASON WHY JAPAN IS MAKING A FUSS ABOUT K-POP RIGHT NOW

As the year-end special broadcasts are being announced one by one, starting with NHK's Kohaku Uta Gassen, there has been a buzz about the lineup.

Earlier this year, media reports claimed that K-pop idols would have a reduced presence in year-end specials, that K-pop would barely appear on year-end stages, and that this year's Kohaku would be dominated by Johnny's groups.

However, as the lineups are revealed, it wasn't really the case. Reports suggest that Kohaku won't feature any current idols from Johnny's, with no offers extended to them. Meanwhile, the FNS Music Festival lineup closely mirrors Kohaku but adds even more K-pop idols, with over 10 K-pop groups set to appear on FNS.

Kphaku itself will feature multiple K-pop idols, including TWICE and others.

Fans of Japanese artists who had hoped for a different lineup this year-end are now reacting strongly to the unexpected turn of events, as the lineups are shaping up to be quite the opposite of what was anticipated.

2. It's true that there are a lot of K-pop groups appearing. Is there even a need for that many?

3. I wish they wouldn't go... sigh

4. But there are only 4 K-pop teams no?
> For Kohaku, that's a lot

5. The Japanese kids must hate this

6. Weren't there talks about this last year too..?? I just wish they wouldn't attend

7. Oh so Johnny's changed their name to Starto?

8. I can understand them. It's the same as seeing groups like Niziu or &Team at Korean year-end award shows

9. Is K-pop even that popular?

10. Aside from TWICE, they are all from HYBE..
