The current AI idols
Recently, virtual idols (with real people behind them) have gained quite a bit of popularity, sparking debates about whether AI idols, programmed not just in appearance but also in behavior, can succeed.
1. If technology advances further to allow truly human-like and natural behavior, AI idols could gain popularity.
VS
2. Virtual idols are only popular because there are real people behind them. No matter how much technology improves, machines are still machines, and humans will always be inclined to love humans.

1. 2. If you go deeper, you will eventually love the human behind the machine, and if it can be implemented only with steamed AI without a person behind it, it will only be different in each field, just like there are separate 2D and 3D
2. If you fangirl on AI-dols, then you just like any other 2D character. And if you compare them with a 2S character, ultimately, they are not human. The narrative will still be that of a machine so it's impossible for me
3. No matter how good the technology gets, their personality will feel way too standardized so it'd be hard for me to fangirl on tehm
4. Just make an anime
5. 1, if the story is good, I feel like it's totally possible
6. DUI, drugs, s*x crimes... they will never get into such controversies so I think they'll do fine
7. People do fangirl on 2D characters but I don't think they'll ever come close to the popularity of an idol
8. They can't. Humans love humans. You can't help it. No matter how much they mimic humans, people love 'real' humans
9. No way... people already criticize virtual idols harshly. With an AI that lacks personality, you wouldn’t even be able to stop it from getting bombarded with s*x*al harassment and insults, without any consequences or limits.
10. I think it's possible
