NewJeans member Hanni (20, also known as Pham Hanni) is set to attend the National Assembly inspection today (15th), making her the first K-pop idol to do so.
Hanni will attend the Environment and Labor Committee's inspection as a witness this afternoon, where she will provide direct testimony regarding workplace bullying issues related to 'idol bullying.' Kim Ju-young, the successor to producer Min Hee-jin, who discovered NewJeans, is also reported to be in attendance.
The committee plans to conduct a Q&A session regarding the recent allegations of bullying involving NewJeans and the inadequate responses to such issues.
Additionally, there will likely be inquiries about whether Hani qualifies as a 'worker' under labor standards law, and whether she has experienced bullying that exceeds appropriate work-related boundaries.
