On the 24th, during a National Assembly audit by the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Committee, Democratic Party lawmaker Min Hyung-bae questioned Kim Tae-ho, COO of HYBE and CEO of Belift Lab, about HYBE’s statement that they would hold those responsible for the document leak accountable.

In response, Kim stated, “I don’t know because I haven’t communicated with the company. I wasn’t instructed to give a statement,” adding, “I was sitting in the witness seat.”

Lawmaker Min remarked, “The audit is conducted under the Constitution and laws, and as a witness, you have ample opportunity to speak. It’s highly inappropriate for the company to respond in such a manner to the questions asked,” urging him to apologize. Kim replied, “I haven’t seen the HYBE statement. I have no information at all.”

Committee chair Jeon Jae-soo commented, “While the audit is ongoing, and lawmakers are questioning the witnesses, issuing a statement makes the audit meaningless and undermines the authority of the National Assembly. Is HYBE, a leading company in K-pop, responding this irresponsibly? Do you think the National Assembly is a joke?”

He then requested that they gather information on this matter and convey HYBE’s official position to the committee, stating, “Otherwise, we may have to explore other options.”

During the audit, some contents of an internal weekly report format were revealed, confirming that the document contained derogatory remarks about idols from other entertainment companies.
