We would like to address the article published by Ilgan Sports on October 7.

We strongly demand an immediate cessation of attempts to defame our new artists through unfounded plagiarism claims and baseless controversy regarding personnel matters.

The member in charge of ILLIT's protocol (manager) has never made a statement telling the NewJeans members to "ignore" anyone.

ILLIT's members have never passed by the NewJeans members without greeting them.

This fact has been confirmed through CCTV checks and investigations involving the protocol staff and artists, conducted at the request of Belift Lab on June 13, the date when the parents of NewJeans members raised the issue.

The two groups’ only encounter was on May 27, when they spent about five minutes in the same space within the HYBE headquarters. The video captured ILLIT members greeting NewJeans member Hanni with a 90-degree bow as they exited the elevator.

When we reviewed this video with Min Hee-jin, the then-representative, on August 14, her team claimed that the greeting did not happen until after this moment and suggested there might be another video. However, this was after the 30-day retention period for the footage, so additional retrieval was not possible, according to the security company. The former representative's team has argued that HYBE intentionally deleted the video.

Our protocol staff members use honorifics and respectful language with the artists, so the idea that someone would say "ignore" does not align with objective facts.

They claim that the video where someone supposedly said 'ignore them' has been deleted, but since the CCTV does not record audio, this assertion cannot stand.

From the moment this issue was raised, we have consistently emphasized the importance of behaving courteously among artists from different labels, and we have approached the investigation sincerely. However, even after providing all requested explanations, new claims have been made that cannot be verified, leading to a situation where something that never happened is being discussed in a National Assembly audit. This raises suspicions about ulterior motives.

We have refrained from commenting on this issue to protect our employees, who may be in a weaker position compared to well-known artists. However, as attempts to solidify false narratives continue, the affected staff member is expressing extreme frustration and mental distress. By bringing personnel issues, which are usually a matter of goodwill between labels, into the public sphere and repeatedly making claims that are not true, it is the powerless protocol staff member who is truly suffering.

Since the issue was raised, we have already sent two official responses and positions to Ador in August and September regarding this matter. Following demands for measures to prevent recurrence, after a NewJeans member mentioned this issue during a live event, we requested an apology from that member and at the Ador label level. However, we have not received any response regarding this.

We would like to make it clear that if this issue continues to damage the honor of our company, artists, and staff, we will take all necessary measures available to us.
