CJ ENM announced that through the '2024 MAMA AWARDS,' they will highlight the remarkable achievements of artists and numerous stakeholders who have shown continuous challenges and passion. The awards aim to reflect the value of K-POP, propose new directions and futures, and evolve steadily as a global representative K-POP award that aligns with the influence and status of K-POP in the global arena.

In particular, they plan to refine the evaluation method to accurately assess K-POP, which possesses global competitiveness through overwhelming performances, trend-setting music, high-quality music videos and albums, and visuals that capture the attention of global fans. For example, in the case of 'Album of the Year,' the evaluation will not be limited to sales but will comprehensively assess quality, visuals, and influence, from planning to music and artwork. Additionally, to spotlight the importance of K-POP performances and choreographers, a new category called 'Best Choreography' will be established to honor impressive K-POP choreography, further solidifying the awards as a ceremony that resonates with both the music industry and fandom.

A CJ ENM representative stated, 'As this is an awards ceremony created together with K-POP fans worldwide, we will more actively reflect the voices of many who love K-POP, highlighting the artists and industry stakeholders who have led K-POP trends and shown shining performances over the year.' The '2024 MAMA AWARDS' will unveil the nominees and works for each category for the first time through a nomination broadcast on October 14 (Monday) at 6 PM (KST). The nomination broadcast for the '2024 MAMA AWARDS' will be available for viewing worldwide on Mnet as well as on the Mnet K-POP YouTube channel and Mnet TV.
