[instiz] JENNIE'S SINGLE 'MANTRA', KBS, INEGIBILE FOR BROADCAST BECAUSE OF LYRICS

BLACKPINK's Jennie's new song "Mantra" has been deemed ineligible for broadcast on KBS due to its mention of specific brand names.

According to the KBS music review results on Oct 23rd, “Mantra” violated Article 46 of the Broadcasting Review Regulations as it referenced a specific product brand in its lyrics, leading to the broadcast ban.

In addition to “Mantra”, NCT’s Jaehyun’s new song “Unconditional”, set to release on Oct 24th, was also banned for the same reason.

However, even if a song receives an ineligible judgment, the problematic parts can be edited or removed, and the song can be resubmitted for re-evaluation. If the revised version passes, it can then be broadcast.

Jennie’s “Mantra”, released on Oct 11th, has been performing well on both domestic and international music charts. The song encourages everyone to create their own charm as they shine in their own way.

On its first day, “Mantra” garnered 5,247,858 streams and entered Spotify’s “Daily Top Songs Global” chart at No.5. It also topped the real-time chart on Bugs in Korea and reached No.1 on iTunes’ “Top Songs” chart in 57 countries/regions, including the U.S., Brazil, Singapore, the Philippines and Mexico. Jennie became the first female K-pop solo artist to reach No.1 on the U.S. iTunes “Top Songs” chart this year. As of 2 PM on Oct 17th, the music video surpassed 36 million views.

Meanwhile, Jennie established her own agency OA Entertainment (Odd Atelier) last year and began various activities.

1. ? Was there any specific brand mentioned in Mantra?
> Is it because of In-N-Out?

2.Yeah, she wasn't gonna perform there anyways

3. Is it because of Defender and In-N-Out?.. She wasn't gonna go on MuBank anyways so whateverã…‹ã…‹
ã…‹ã…‹
> What's a Defender?
>> It's a Land Rover car!

4. Yup anyways, she wasn't gonna goã…‹ã…‹ even if they offered, she wasn't going

5. If the trademark is an issue, you can simply mute that part or handle it accordingly. If this isn't approved, it won't just affect Music Bank; it means the song can't be used in any variety shows, as background music in skits or guest appearances, or even on radio shows. Cast members won't be able to hear it or use it without editing.

5. KBS tends to be conservative with their music reviews, and this is the case regardless of the company, including YG

6. But BP has never appeared on MuBank since the beginningã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

7. Seriously, they have no sense. They are making their living off artsã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

8. Then even if I request this show on radio it won't be played..?ã…

9. KBS has been like this regardless of the company..

10. It's a shame that the song can't even be played on radio
