EXO's leader Suho and the members of aespa have filed a lawsuit against A, the operator of a cyber wrecker account named Sojang.

Suho and aespa's agency, SM Entertainment, stated on September 4th to Newsen, "We filed the lawsuit in April, and the first hearing took place on September 2nd."

A has been charged with violations of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, including defamation, and appeared in the Incheon District Court for the first hearing on September 2nd.

A is accused of creating malicious videos targeting celebrities, including IVE member Jang Wonyoung, BTS members, and solo artist Kang Daniel, from October 2021 to June of last year. These videos allegedly defamed and insulted the individuals involved. It has been revealed that A earned approximately 250 million won (~186K USD) from these activities.

In the court session on the 2nd, A admitted to producing the videos but denied the charges of defamation and obstruction of business.

A's lawyer argued, "There was no intent to harm, and since it was believed to be truthful, it does not constitute illegality. The comments were merely expressions of opinion and cannot be considered defamation."

Jang Wonyoung and her agency, Starship Entertainment, are currently seeking damages for defamation, and the case is ongoing.
