"U.S. plumbers earn three times the salary of college graduates... Blue-collar workers striking it big in the AI era"

Unlike office jobs that are threatened by AI, due to the aversion to manual labor in developed countries and the aging of skilled workers, the value of technical jobs has skyrocketed, and the demand for tasks that AI cannot replace has actually increased.

original post: here

1. ?? They always earned a lot

2. This isn't only an US thing, our country is in a shortage of garbage collector, it's bad

3. Shouldn't things like that be the norm? Special trades have always been well-paying though

4. I'm a white collar and this sounds about right

5. Of course for skilled workers, they've always earned a lot. Our country too, once you earn more experience, you'll earn more money

6. Plumbers need to know trigonometry; it's not something just anyone can do

7. It's the same in Korea. Plumbing, welding technicians, etc. They're irreplaceable

8. Korean ajussis also earn millions of won

9. What's the fuss?

10. Huh? This has been the case in the US 10 years, 20 years ago, the special trades have always been earning a lot
