[theqoo] NCT'S TAEIL, ACCUSED OF S*X CRIME... POLICE "CONFIRMS JUNE INVESTIGATION" + SM'S NEW STATEMENT

Male idol group NCT’s Taeil has been accused of a s*x crime and was placed under police investigation.

The Seoul Yangcheon Police Station revealed today (29th) that Taeil was placed under investigation for allegations of a s*x crime in June.

Prior to this, SM Entertainment, Taeil’s agency, stated yesterday (28th), “We have recently confirmed that Taeil has been accused in a criminal case related to a s*x crime.”

They continued, “While verifying the facts, we recognized the seriousness of the matter and decided that he could no longer continue his team activities. After discussing it with Taeil, we decided on his departure from the group.”

SM added, “Taeil is currently cooperating fully with the police investigation, and we will provide further statements depending on the progress of the investigation.”

They also apologized, saying, “We deeply apologize for the trouble caused by our artist.”

1. How did journalists not know?

2. June????? There's no way nobody knew

3. It seems like they were trying to cover up for him all this time

4. How can one stay silent for 3 months...

5. This has to be a cover up

6. This has been dragged for over 2 months and you're telling me that journalists didn't know? That's not even your average scandal and it was hidden all this time???

7. Even here, no one really knows that member, so why would they hide a crime and let them participate in a fan meeting, only to cut ties with them during another team member’s solo activities? No matter how much you dislike SM, try to think rationally. These people are losing it. And even if they found out two weeks ago, it’s not like they can announce the member's departure within 2-3 days. The company also needs time to understand the situation and follow proper procedures, so the delay makes sense.

8. When you work at a company, if someone is determined to hide something, it can go unnoticed. There was a time when a sunbae at my workplace suddenly called in the morning to say they were taking a half-day off and asked me to cover for them. But they didn’t come back in the afternoon, and no one could reach them. It turns out they were arrested, likely for something related to hidden cameras. The manager went to talk to them and suggested that resigning was better than getting fired, so they submitted a resignation letter. But showing up at a fan meeting in August? That’s just shameless.

9. It's even funnier to believe that SM had no idea and got blindsided. They're not some elementary school kids...

10. Seriously shameless

[theqoo] SM'S REP "WE LEARNED ABOUT TAEIL'S INVESTIGATION IN AUGUST, SUMMON ON THE 28TH"

A representative of SM Entertainment has stepped up to deny ongoing speculations that former NCT member Taeil's s*x*al offense case was "covered up" for approximately 2 months.

In response to the Seoul Bangbae Police Station's comment on August 29 KST, stating that a female victim had reported Taeil for a s*x*al offense in June, SME relayed, "Both SM Entertainment and Taeil were notified of the criminal investigation in mid-August. Taeil was then summoned for questioning on August 28 KST."

Based on the agency's statement, the police received the criminal report in June, but did not notify the suspect of the investigation until August.

1. No but aren't they contacting the assailant way too late?

2. To those talking about company management… Seriously, how much are they supposed to manage the personal life of a 30-year-old man born in '94?

3. This isn’t about incompetence; even if someone is booked by the police, they wouldn’t know until they get a call from the authorities. It’s not like the police immediately contacts the agency the next day after a report is filed. It typically takes a few months, which is normal.

4. There’s no evidence that the agency tried to cover anything up, and they issued the announcement about his departure before any rumors or anything else surfaced. So, should the agency really be blamed here? The blame should be on the criminal, not the agency.

5. I like how they are kicking him out cleanly, let's go our separate ways

6. SM must be pretty shocked too

7. SM is so incompetent

8. This isn't SM's first s*x crime involving their idols. The issue is their fans still fangirling on them

9. Not committing a s*x crime is just basic human decency. Is it really the agency’s job to teach that? Some fans are so quick to treat their idols like helpless children and blame the company for everything. Same goes for the people here

10. Why should a company look after a grown 30 y.o man?ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ crazyã…‹ please "look" after himã…‹ã…‹
