Beauty standards are just different. They probably think it's strange when they see people in our country shaving down their jaws and cheekbones to make their faces look like quail eggs.

Their beauty standards revolve around maturity and sensuality. In our country, we focus on looking younger, over there, dating someone who looks too young can make you seem like a ped*. They prefer mature, voluminous and muscular physiques, both in men and women. So for women, they prefer wearing bold makeup and having facial surgeries that enhance their features.

For most East Asians, features like monolids and broader faces are common, so we consider larger eyes with double eyelids and a slim face as the beauty standard. On the other hand, Westerners typically have smaller faces and slim jaws, so features that deviate from this, like square jaws or pronounced cheekbones and fuller lips, might be seen as more charming. The idea is that because everyone has a slim jaw, something different, like a square jaw, becomes a standout feature. For example, Angelina Jolie is considered one of the most beautiful women by Americans, but she might seem unusual to us because our beauty standards focus on traits that are already common in Western faces but with added features like square jaws or prominent cheekbones.... Of course, separate from beauty standards, it seems that this particular girl's surgery just doesn’t suit her

Westerners, unlike here, find youthful and baby-faced looks to be unsophisticated and dislike them.

The same goes for Korea. Every time I see idols with silicon noses that look like chalk, I can’t get used to it.
