North Korean Athletes Facing Ideological Screening After Returning from Paris Olympics

Reports have emerged that North Korean athletes who participated in the Paris Olympics are undergoing ideological screening in Pyongyang upon their return. Athletes who took selfies with South Korean players could face punishment.

The North Korean athletes were instructed not to make contact with foreign athletes, including South Koreans, before leaving for the Olympics. If it is confirmed that they violated this directive, they could be subject to penalties. In particular, reports have been submitted criticizing table tennis mixed doubles silver medalists Ri Jong-sik and Kim Kum-yong, who took selfies with South Korean and Chinese athletes.
