On August 8, Mnet announced that Karina will join the lineup of “MY ARTi FILM.”
“MY ARTi FILM” is Mnet’s innovative cinematic performance series where different K-pop artists challenge themselves with acting in various genres such as romance, comedy, and thriller. Each episode features dance performances that reinterpret famous movie scenes, blending K-pop style with cinematic flair.
Karina will take on the noir action genre in “MY ARTi FILM.” She will portray a strong, independent character who stands up against a crime boss, showing a new side of herself not seen on stage. Anticipation is high for her performance.
“I enjoyed becoming the protagonist of a noir action piece, which I usually only watch,” Karina said. “I hope viewers appreciate and enjoy seeing this new side of me.”
Karina, who debuted as a member of aespa in 2020, has ventured into various fields, proving her widespread popularity. The group, known for hits including “Next Level,” “Spicy,” and “Drama,” continues to dominate music charts with their pre-release title track “Supernova.”
Mnet’s “MY ARTi FILM,” which previously featured THE BOYZ’s Sunwoo and ONF, continues to draw K-pop fans with its fresh concept. On August 13, the show will feature Julie and Natty of KISS OF LIFE.
“MY ARTi FILM” airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m. KST via Mnet and the Mnet K-Pop YouTube channel.
