"A current police officer, who was arrested for trespassing, has been revealed to be a r*p*st from 13 years ago who had previously evaded capture."

A former police officer has been arrested on suspicion of residential burglary and handed over to prosecutors after being identified as the perpetrator of a 13-year-old r*pe case through DNA matching analysis.

The Eunpyeong Police Station in Seoul announced on Nov. 27 that it sent a man in his 40s to the Seoul West District Prosecutors' Office on Nov. 28 on suspicion of residential invasion and rape.

Mr. A was a lieutenant in the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's riot police and was removed from his post on the same day.

Police received a report that someone had sneaked into a karaoke bar in Eunpyeong-gu, which had closed in May, and identified him after tracking him down.

During the investigation, police analyzed and compared A's DNA and found that it matched the DNA found at the scene of a r*pe case that occurred 13 years ago in Gangnam, Seoul, and charged him with r*pe.
