BLACKPINK member Jennie has been reported for indoor smoking.
On the 8th, a video of Jennie smoking indoors began spreading on online communities. The video was part of a vlog uploaded to Jennie's YouTube channel on the 2nd, but the segment has since been deleted.
A netizen claimed to have reported the incident to the Korean embassy in Italy. The netizen, identified as A, stated that the location appeared to be Capri Island in Italy and wrote, "I have requested an investigation through the e-People portal to the Korean embassy in Italy. I strongly urge a thorough investigation and strict punishment for Jennie's indoor smoking incident." They also posted a screenshot confirming the completion of the complaint to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Italy has enforced an indoor smoking ban since January 2005. If caught smoking in indoor public places, a fine of up to 250 euros (approximately 370,000 KRW) per cigarette can be imposed. If smoking in front of pregnant women or children, the fine is doubled.
