[theqoo] THE CARELESS-DOLS "ENHYPEN", HISTORY OF RUINING THEIR MOUTHS

The group ENHYPEN made yet another mistake while using ignorance as a weapon. If this is their level of carelessness, the team's direction should be changed to mysticism, to prevent them from speaking without a script.

On the 10th, member Jay shared his thoughts on Korean history during a live broadcast with member Sunghoon through a fan communication platform.

When Sunghoon confessed, “I used to hate history classes because it was boring, but these days, Korean history is fun,” Jay responded, “I like world history.” “To be honest, I learned a certain amount of Korean history through school books,” he said. “I like studying history, but the information about Korean history is so lacking.”

Sunghoon then said, “There is a lot of information." and tried to correct Jay’s remark by saying, “I tried to record all the details about it,” but Jay responded, “You're right. However, if you just study for a few weeks or skim through it, you'll finish it rather quickly. It feels like a short story” he continued.

He added, “Other countries’ (history) really has no end. I've looked at the history of all kinds of countries, but the stories of other countries just keep going." He said, “Korea passed by all at once before Balhae dynasty, and then a little while after the Three Kingdoms period. It passed by quickly. When I was studying, I often felt, ‘Why did I finish faster than I thought?’” he said.

Jay is a black-haired foreigner with dual American citizenship, but he completed all of his elementary, middle, and high school education in Korea. It is not a crime to have poor historical knowledge, but the attitude of calling the history of the Korean Peninsula a 'short story' and discounting one's personal opinion as fact on a broadcast watched by many fans from all over the world was itself careless.

As criticism continued, Jay posted an apology. However, the controversy was not quelled as the sincerity of the part that said, “Regardless of the reason, I sincerely apologize for making fans uncomfortable” was questioned.

This is not the first time ENHYPEN  has been indiscreet. In a V Live broadcast on November 18, Jungwon had said about fans who were attending ENHYPEN’s fan meeting on November 19, “Won’t the fans who are attending the fan meeting the day after the CSAT not do well on the test?” He added, “Well, the CSAT isn’t that important.” The other members asked, “Why?” “What are you talking about?” and was confused. In the end, Jungwon said, "I want to apologize for the words I said in yesterday’s V Live broadcast that didn’t take into consideration the feelings of those taking the college entrance exam. I was so excited at the thought of meeting ENGENE at the fan meeting in person after so long that I didn’t consider the feelings of the students who were studying for the college entrance exam. I realized that I am still immature and lacking. I’m sorry. I will become someone who thinks more carefully and deeply in future."

While talking about 'countries I want to travel to', Jake said, "I've never been to Europe," and Jungwon replied, "I've only been to Europe once. America is also Europe, right?" There was even a debate online over whether this was basic common sense or not. However, before discussing common sense, the important thing to know is that ENHYPEN is a group that ranks high on the 'US' Billboard chart. They don't even know in which country they achieved good results on the charts, so why are they promoting?
