[theqoo] RIIZE 'LOVE 119' IZM REVIEW

By Im Dong Yub

RIIZE is going back in time more and more. Last fall, they brought the deep saxophone that was popular about 10 years ago with "Talk Saxy," and this time, they jumped back in time and brought Lee Ji's "Emergency Room" (OST for the drama "Sassy Girl Chun-hyang"), which came out in 2005. It's a song that men in their 30-40's in particular can't help but know. It is still a karaoke favorite to this day, so it can be said to have a timeless sensibility. Rather than trying to change things up, this new boy group capitalized on the nostalgia of the original song, creating a youthful yet amplified image of winter and first love.

It succeeds in setting the mood, but it's not quite a finished product from the rising stars of 2023, who have quickly become the face of the fifth generation of K-pop. The sampling is also a problem. The piano riff feels like it's being pushed backwards, while the energetic vocals and percussion keep pushing forward. Eventually, they drift apart, creating a constant sense of unease. The playful charm of "Memories," which resembles the fast-paced beat of The Kid Laroi's "Stay," and the vibrant charm displayed in the funky sound of "Get a guitar," which BTS unleashed while targeting the U.S. market, is gone (?). Seriously, this is an emergency.

original post: here

1. The song is boring

2. It's because Get A Guitar was such a good song..

3. Get A Guitar was a BTS song originally? (I don't know

4. Get A Guitar was good. They won't have a song like that anymore

5. For real, the piano and vocals are way too imbalanced

6. Oh I thought that the song was good though

7. I think that the type of song that the critic likes, the type of song that the general public likes and the type of song that fans like are all differentㅋㅋㅋ

8. Huh?ㅋㅋㅋ I feel like the critic has bad ears

9. I like the song but I somehow cannot listen to it over and over againㅠㅠ

10. I agree... the music just seems to be different from the voices so that's why I'm a bit disappointed
