[theqoo] THE PROPORTION OF LGBTQ IS INCREASING AT AN OVERWHELMING RATE AMONG THE Z GENERATION IN THE U.S.

20.8% of people born in '97-'03 identified as LGBT as of 2001

The peculiarity here is that the proportion of homosexuals is similar, but the proportion of bisexuals has skyrocketed.

When analyzing this phenomenon, it is speculated that there are many people who feel comfortable admitting their identity in a different social environment compared to the past. The acceptance of diversity has become cool and admirable, contributing to its spread among Gen Z's like a trend.

1. It's like they are doing this to follow the trend

2. I'm also bi but I've been living in hiding all this time

3. I've also been pretending to be straight but I've been dating more women all my life. I think that there's a shift because the society is changing and becoming more open. They probably existed back then too

4. There has always been a lot of homosexuals... it's just that there were a lot of people who never came out about it

5. It's just a trend

6. Right now, it's considered discriminatory if you say that there are only men and women as genders over there. If you ask them how many genders there are, they would say something like 30? 100? Infinite??

7. They are probably just following the trend and are not actually homosexual

8. I think that most people are bi, they are just unaware

9. I'm a bi. You don't just become gay or bi in a day

10. I bet that some are just following the trend. Even during the hippie days, it was kinda trendy to be gay
