[theqoo] 46% OF FEMALE KOREAN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH PLASTIC SURGERY

"
I'm reading a story about the Korean plastic surgery industry in the Harvard Medical School Review... It's interesting.

1. The belief that appearance determines the future. 80% of Korean recruiters say they consider appearance.

2. 24% of all cosmetic surgeries in the world are performed in Korea.

3. 46% of Korean female college students have had plastic surgery.

Korean plastic surgery patients are much younger than in the U.S. (mostly 35-50 years old)

4. 2.6% of South Korean physicians are plastic surgeons compared to 0.7% in the U.S. (as of 2018 and 2019)

5. Foreign patients who come to Korea for cosmetic tourism account for about 50% of all patients.

6. According to the BBC, breast implant patients are 2-3 times more likely to commit s*icide than the general population."

1. But double eyelids surgery is so common

2. Ah so they even include hair removal? Then I got plastic surgery tooㅋㅋ

3. I haven't gotten anything done... but if they include hair removal, thenㅋㅋㅋ

4. There are honestly a lot of people who get double eyelid surgery done... if you get it done young, even a middle schooler could get it done

5. My life was finally worth living after getting my eyelids done

6. I was surprised that some people who claim they didn't do it said they did it later, but the almost all the women around me did it. But what is that about breast surgery and s*icide rates? I want to know the reason.

7. Korea is unique in being overly concerned with plastic surgery and appearance, but seems other countries are the same

8. What on earth is the correlation between breast augmentation and s*icide rates?

9. There is seriously a lot of people who got double eyelids surgery. And getting a nose job is also more common that I thought

10. I thought about it at some point and all my friends got double eyelids surgery except me
