HSH: I actually got admitted to a school
PD: And you didn't go?
HSH: I couldn't go... I got admitted to a school in France. But the bank under my name must have had 60M won under it...(45K USD) And I had issues with my visa. And also where can I even find 60M won?
PD: You had to have that kind of money? Just to go to school?
HSH: Because there are a lot of illegal immigrants... So seeing this, I started working part-time and if I worked 12 hours a day in a brewery bar, I received 1.8M won (1.3K USD). And then I modelled 2 hours, and they would pay me 3M won (2.8K USD). I was modelling for that clothing brand called Musinsa and got a gig for Ritz.
HSH: And then I got shocked because I suddenly had 20M won in my bank account. Because I didn't have an agency, so there was no things like sharing fees. It all went to me! 20M won!
PD: So all you had to do is pay tax?
HSH: I thought "ok this is it1' This is it! If I shoot 3 ads with them, I'll earn my 60M won and let's go (to France)!" This was how I thought, but then, things kept coming left and right. My life's turning point was that ad with Ritz.
PD: So you could've already went to your school abroad, but because gigs kept on coming, 20M won (15K USD)! 40M won (30K USD)! 60M won! You learned how money tasted like.
HSH: I saw that Ritz ad, and our Hwang Bok-yong CEO told me "try acting". But I said "I would hate it". He kept telling me "Let's just try acting once" and I said "I don't want it"
