[PC stories/KPOP takes] ARE KPOP GLOBAL AUDITIONS A SCAM?

Every year we see several auditions by small & big companies that are known to be “global”.

But is it actually global?

This global audition phenomenon started to happen about 15 years ago and since then it's always a scam. Usually in these global audition guidelines it is stated that: “All nationalities are welcome”. But these nationalities or ethnicities don't go farther than East Asia.

If they choose a person from Europe or America, that person is usually Half Korean. This situation is disappointing for all the aspirants who tries to audition only to get rejected. The question that gets raised here is: if you really want to have all Asians with no diversity, why putting the name “Global” at first place?

Is this because Kpop companies want to publicize their auditions that can generate curiousness for the future group debuting? Kpop companies are more than happy to do the globalization of their groups by promoting it in the west but are always hesitant to add at least one member from those regions.

Is it because Koreans are xenophobic? These questions needs answers!
