Hikikomori: A form of severe social withdrawal, called hikikomori, has been frequently described in Japan and is characterized by adolescents and young adults who become recluses in their parents' homes, unable to work or go to school for months or years.

It is an incident that became famous in Japan when Hideaki Kumazawa (76), an elite former vice minister and former ambassador to the Czech Republic, stabbed his son to death.

His son is Eiichiro Kumazawa, 44 (pictured when he was 19)

While receiving 400,000 yen (equivalent to 4 million won (t/n: ~3KUSD)) per month as pocket money, he always put 320,000 yen into gaming every time.

He often assaulted his mother and father on the subject that it was so hard to live for him on this amount in allowance.
