The police have arrested a total of 60 suspects suspected of posting a murder notice on an online community. About 40 more were arrested in half a day.
According to the National Police Agency on the 5th, the police arrested a total of 60 netizens who posted murder notices as of 7:00 pm on the same day. This is an increase of 42 people compared to 12:00 noon that day.
The police caught the authors of these murder notices at Yongsan, Seoul, Wangsimni Station in Seoul, Moran Station in Seongnam, and Uijeongbu Station in Gyeonggi. One person who wrote a notice of murder at Sillim Station has already been handed over to the prosecution in a state of custody. Most recently, the author of the 'Seoul Cosplay Festival Stabbing Plan' was arrested.
Police across the country, including the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Cybercrime Investigation Unit, are tracking down the author of those murder notices. However, many people use dynamic IPs or virtual private networks (VPNs), so it takes time to track them.
