"In our agreement with China on pandas, the return date is 'before the age of four,'" said Jung Dong-hee, director of Everland Zoo, at a press briefing at Panda World on the 24th. "We started discussions with the Chinese side last month when Fu Bao celebrated her third birthday, but we have not yet received a concrete answer."
"We are cautiously expecting Fu Bao's return to be in February or April, before or after March, as there have been cases of Le Bao and Ai Bao coming home in March in the past. May and July are rather hot," Jung said.
Zookeeper Kang, also known as Grandpa Panda, was also present at the briefing.
"From the first time I met Fu Bao, I knew that we would have to say goodbye to her one day, and I think it's right for her to go to back to China, so I'm not too sad about it," Kang said. "Even if we send her to China, I won't forget her and will remember her forever."
