So recently I noticed that whenever I go out to go to campus, get groceries or whatever I always have at least one friend going along with me. In the rare times where I do go alone I feel a lot more self-conscious. It might sound odd but when I’m with someone I focus on our interactions but when I’m alone, I don’t know what to think of so I just end up being really hyperaware of my surroundings. I do have social anxiety to a certain extent so it definitely contributes to this too.
I want to be more comfortable with being alone! I know it won’t happen immediately but I want to be able to confidently go to places and social events by myself. I’m already planning to go to therapy, but if I could hear some experiences or tips from pc commenters about this it would be great :)
